Our Mission
The mission of the Duval County Conservation District is to protect our natural resources through the use of technology and education.  To service our local landowners and users and to provide leadership in resolution while implementing and sustaining management practices that will conserve, improve and safeguard the natural resources of Duval County.

 

 

Background information on the Organization 

The Duval County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD), located in Jacksonville, Florida is dedicated to encouraging productive use of land, water and air resources in the county. Under Florida Statutes Chapter 582, the Board's responsibilities include conducting surveys, investigations, research and demonstration projects relating to soil and water conservation (in areas like irrigation, water quality, and soil erosion).

The Board plans to partner with the public and local, state and federal departments for the protection and education of the soil and water of our area.

The Board meets on the second Wednesday of every month at 6:00pm at the Duval County Extension Office on McDuff Avenue. All meetings are open to the public.
